The Indian Senior Citizens Centre is a Charity Registered (1040167) BME Voluntary organisation which provides culturally sensitive Day Resource Services for Indian Older People of city wide Manchester, Trafford, Stockport, Bury and Salford.
About Us
We started in 1983 in Withington (Gandhi Hall) and was established there in 1988. After running voluntarily for 9 years, it was recognised by Local Authority and Health Authority in 1992, they started giving some grants.
After getting 2 grants from the National Lottery Charities Board we bought this present premises and delivered our numerous services efficiently and effectively.
The ISCC was opened in 1988 to serve as a Day Centre for the use of the senior members of the Indian community in Greater Manchester
What we do
Our present membership is about 250 and daily average attendance is between 100 to 200. We open Mondays /Wednesday/Thursday And our main aim is to provide culturally sensitive Day Resource services, including a luncheon club, recreational facilities, social activities, entertainment games, outings, visits, preventative health care, rehabilitation facilities i.e. chiropody, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and exercise classes.
